Leave the parking area through the metal gate or the left hand side of gate if closed, and immediately turn left down a track called Whitney Croft (sign is located on left hand side near the base of the hedge). Go along this path passing some cottages and houses. At the end of this track is a footpath running between the wall of a large building,"The Old Stables"(signed) and a low stone wall of the field, This is a public footpath which has recently been repaired by Macclesfield Council, improving the access to the first reservoir. Proceed along this narrow path and you will see a metal gate in the wall on the left,go through the gate and up the steps to the first water.Access to fishing is to the left, the two banks will easily accomodate 6-10 pegs.Note at the moment the bottom pool cannot be reached safely through the field as the fence which surrounds this pool has no gates. There is access at the far end of the fence by the water race but this is not safe particularly for younger and older anglers and should not be used.
This pool contains a variey of fish including carp
